An Introduction from Emerge Psychotherapy Associate:

Hannah Onians

With a compassionate presence, I welcome in clients that are curious to explore and get to know themselves in a deeply empowered, embodied, and genuine way. Through a holistic lens, I see the body, emotions, and spirituality as equally important to our cognition. Therefore, I incorporate Body-Centered Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy as a way to connect with our innate wisdom that goes beyond words and cognition. I work with those navigating the effects of childhood trauma, PTSD symptoms, highly sensitive and empathetic individuals, emotional neglect, loneliness and shyness, anxiety, existential issues, grief, and spiritual explorations.

In session, I incorporate Body-Centered Therapy in the form of EMDR, mindfulness-based meditations, yoga, and somatic connection. I also utilize Expressive Arts Therapy in the form of drawing, writing, coloring, movement, and music. Additionally, I incorporate nervous system awareness through Polyvagal and Attachment Theory. I believe these modalities can evoke an opening to processing memories, emotions, and limiting beliefs that have been stored in the body-mind. Processing in this way may create new neural circuitry and a felt-sense of coming back home to oneself. My intention is to hold heart-centered space for your most embodied, empowered, and true self to begin to unfold.
